Metrod Holdings Bhd Family Day 2013 - Tropicana Golf and Country Resort Sept 2013

We were lucky enough to get our second corporate client through the organizer who handled our previous corporate client's (Stadpharm) anniversary. 




This is one of the biggest events we have handled so far at around 300-400pax. Since it is a family day, there were lots of kids running around.  Not to mention that our booth was right beside the giant inflatable playground.  It was a fun and fast paced event.



Stadpharm 10th Anniversary - Double Tree KL July 2013

Stadpharm was our very first corporate client. We were very much honoured to have participated in the company's 10th anniversary celebration at the swanky Double Tree. There were around 100-150 guests, a lot of which were from the medical profession.





We experienced some set-up issue as when we arrived, the supposed corner wherein we're supposed to set-up the booth was occupied by a cocktail counter.  So we had to improvise and just set-up at the only remaining free corner of the cocktail area.  Good thing there was a nearby power socket.

Miscommunication, last minute changes or equipment failure could happen.  This is why we've learned that we should be at the venue at least 1.5 hrs earlier so we have ample time to do the necessary changes or troubleshooting.

Adrian and Jocelyn's Wedding - Hotel Renaissance KL March 2013




This gig was  different as our clients wanted a single shot photobooth.  Although the single shot defeats the purpose of the photobooth, their request made sense because their backdrop was beautiful!  



As it is a wide angle shot, it was quite challenging to come up with a well-lighted photo.  The hotel's lighting at the cocktail area was very dim.  The Canon 530EXII did it's job as well as the slave speedlight.

Since it is a single shot, the phototaking was very fast (less than 10 secs per photo), hence our reliable Canon MG5340 printer was put to a good test.  The 20-sec printing time proved good enough to keep the queue of the guests waiting for their printouts as short as possible.

Xiao Tong & Min Liang's Wedding - Thean Hou Temple March 2013





We got our first commercial customer last March 2013. 

After the second gig, things have gotten a bit hectic in our day jobs.  Yes me and my partner in Instasnaps, my lovely wife, have day jobs, and this photobooth is somewhat our 'profitable(?)'diversion from our office work.  We weren't able to put some effort in promoting the photobooth despite its big market potential.  But when opportunity knocks, we just have to let it in.  

Honestly, we were quite adamant and apprehensive to take the new job as we have also lost our momentum since the last event.  But the prospect of growing this small business from this event and adding more fun into someone's wedding prompted us to give it a go.  Moreover, this client was referred by Papasnaps Australia to us.  We just couldn't say no!

The wedding's venue was in Thean Hou Temple in Robson Heights.  It was our first time in this magnificent temple.  Wow what a grandiose structure!

Let's Get It Started!!! Ava's 2nd Bday - Aug 2012 / Kevin and Pauline's Wedding - Sept 2012

Getting started is the hardest part. We've had a couple of events to get our groove on.  We've made a few mistakes but have learned lots. Good thing these gigs were for our relatives!

Our very first 'gig' was my naughty daughter's 2nd birthday last August 2012.  It acted as the dress rehearsal for a much bigger event -- my brother in law's wedding in Concorde Hotel KL.  


As most of the attendees in both events didn't have any photobooth experience, their first shots and poses seemed awkward.  When they got the hang of it, that was when the real fun began!  After all, photobooth is all about picture fun!

A New Photobooth is Born in Malaysia...Thanks to Papasnaps Australia!

Thanks to our good friend Poch, Instasnaps Malaysia was born!  

On our trip to Australia last 2012, we were fortunate to have had experienced our first photobooth during Poch's friend's party.  It was a blast!  After getting a few tips from him on the operational requirements,  and checking on the photobooth market in KL, the rest is history. 



Hence, it's just fitting that we dedicate the virgin post in this blog/marketing tool to our founder and ideas-benefactor, Papasnaps.  Below are some of its past events:
